Description: Far and away my favorite Dutch songster is Ede Staal, who left this world too soon but whose songs live on. In this brief clip Ede sings in his own North Dutch dialect. No translation exists, so I made my own. This is what you hear Ede sing in this clip: 'Credo - My Existence' ('Mien Bestoan') "I ask the wind, but it doesn't understand me / I ask the sea, but she sings her own song / Give me the Night, then I have shelter / That's why I sing / I see the birds against the evening sky / I see my life in a brief passing-by / Give me the Night, then I have shelter / That's why... that's why I sing." ... Well, I won't make a habit of uploading music videos, but I thought I'd begin with this short one as an introductory try-out.
